Recently, the storied manufacturer of pipe tobacco, Gawith Hoggarth, released several of its most popular blends that up to now have only been available in a fine shag cut, in a more traditional ribbon cut format. As you might expect, the change in the thickness of the cut plays a part in how the blend will perform. But how much? In this pipe focused episode, we will look at one of these tobaccos, Dark Birds Eye smoking both the “Classic” shag cut version, and the new “Vintage” ribbon cut just released.
